Pupil Assessment

As you may be aware, there have been significant changes to the National Curriculum assessment procedures.  From September 2015, levels as a form of assessment have been removed.  Schools have been required to implement their own systems of assessment.

At Meadowside we use SPTO (School PUPIL TRACKER), which  allows teachers to record day-to-day assessment and learning so that a child's depth and application of learning is taken into account when making judgements. Pupil achievement is judged as either Emerging, Developing or Secure and termly assessments are also recorded to combine summative and formative assesments.

Other subjects are assessed using EARWIG, using a Bespoke PRIMARY ASSESSMENT FRAMEWORK. Photographic evidence is captured using their online tool and a timeline is developed for each pupil's portfolio. Subject leaders can also monitor subject coverage and the percentage of pupils achieveing age related expectations.
